MAGU is the artistic project of singer-songwriter Maia Steinberg, whose poetic songs invite audiences to honor life through music, storytelling and cultural connection.
Rooted in Latin American songwriting and inspired by diverse musical traditions and instruments from around the world, MAGU creates an intimate and uplifting sound where Spanish poetry meets folk guitar, Indian harmonium, didgeridoo and world percussion. Every song is an invitation to pause, reflect and reconnect with ourselves, with one another and with the stories that shape us.
At the heart of the project lies a simple belief: every human experience, even our deepest wounds, holds the potential to become beauty. Through themes of identity, belonging, resilience, ancestry and hope, MAGU transforms lived experience into songs that celebrate our shared humanity and inspire audiences to embrace life in all its complexity.
MAGU aims to create spaces for connection. Concerts often become shared experiences where audiences are invited to sing, embark on a journey, reflect and rediscover the beauty of being alive. The project resonates with listeners across cultures through its universal messages and emotionally honest storytelling.
Depending on the occasion, MAGU is presented as a solo, duo or trio, collaborating with musicians from different cultural backgrounds while preserving the same artistic vision: creating music that transcends borders and speaks directly to the soul.
